This print collection is based on natural structures. Think of the camouflage-like markings on a tree, the colour of fallen leaves, or the organic shapes of seeds and branches. These elements are used as a source of inspiration for a versatile set of patterns for fabric.
Moodboard for inspiration and coloursAs usual, the patterns start with actual sketches on paper. This time I have also painted different structures to digitally alter later and incorporate them in my designs. For example this abstract tree trunk structure.
Abstract tree trunk like structure designMost of the designs are a combination of these abstract shapes, resembling natural elements. Altering shapes and colours into patterns that can be used for fabrics.
Seeds and branches Organic green intertwining branches patternThe colour green is bright but neutral and can be combined with many other shades. Green and brown occur frequently in nature. Combining colours that complement each other enables the different prints in this collection to be easily mixed and matched.
Green abstract wave structure My variation on a camouflage printThe next pattern exists of different dotted lines, like those of a map showing forestation and heights. The blue colour is a fresh accent to set off the greens and browns in the collection.
Lines on a mapFinally, a combination of several structures and shapes of the collection, to bring everything together. Has a bit of a retro feel, just like the colour scheme of browns and greens.
